The Madrid City Council Takes Off at Mobile World Congress with Its Thriving Video Game and Innovation Ecosystem

Madrid, March 2025 – Madrid in Game, an initiative by the Madrid City Council to promote the video game and gamification industry, is reinforcing its commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship by participating for the second consecutive year at 4YFN within Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Taking place from March 3 to 6, 4YFN is one of the world’s most important events for startups and tech entrepreneurs. This year, Madrid in Game will join forces with Madrid Innovation to present the talent emerging from their incubation and acceleration programs, with the Start IN Up Program as a key highlight of the booth, located in Hall 8.1 at booths A50 and A51.

4YFN: A Global Startup Hub

4YFN (4 Years From Now) has been a flagship event for the global startup scene since 2014, running alongside Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Its main goal is to connect startups, investors, top executives, and major companies to foster strategic collaborations and innovation.

With previous editions welcoming over 100,000 attendees and 970 companies from 56 countries, the event is a crucial platform for Madrid-based startups to seek investment, network, and engage with industry leaders.

Madrid: A Global Reference for Innovation and Gaming

Madrid in Game’s presence at 4YFN aligns with the Madrid City Council’s strategy to establish the Spanish capital as a global hub for technological innovation and business development in gaming.

This year, Madrid Innovation and Madrid in Game will invite visitors to an interactive and experiential space under the theme "The Boarding Gate for Entrepreneurial Talent." Attendees will embark on a metaphorical journey to Madrid, showcasing how innovation, video games, and gamification drive economic and social growth, ultimately improving citizens’ lives.

Additionally, the event will serve as a key opportunity to demonstrate to an international audience the maturity and strength of Madrid’s acceleration programs, led by the City Council’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department.

Ángel Niño, Madrid’s Deputy Councillor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, emphasized the strategic importance of Madrid’s presence at Mobile World Congress:

Niño will attend the inauguration of Mobile World Congress on March 3, accompanying Madrid Innovation and Madrid in Game entrepreneurs throughout their participation at 4YFN. A Hub for Startups, Networking, and Business Opportunities, The Madrid in Game booth will feature: A dedicated space for entrepreneurs, A presentation stage, Meeting rooms, A networking area to foster professional connections and business opportunities.
