Madrid. Madrid in Game will be present at two unmissable events in the national video game industry: Gamergy in Madrid and the Bilbao International Games Conference (BIG). After expanding its borders and being present in the main capitals and fairs of the sector internationally with a last stop in Miami, the initiative of the Madrid City Council will close the year attending these two major events in the field of Esports and gaming along with more than a dozen companies of the Start IN Up Program, its ambitious entrepreneurship program that already brings together more than 50 startups dedicated to video games and applied technologies.

With the aim of continuing to raise awareness of the initiative and showcase the progress made by the Video Game Campus during its first year of life, Madrid in Game will be at the BIG, which is being held at the Palacio Euskalduna in the Biscayan capital on 15 and 16 December. From Friday 15 to 17 December, the initiative will be at Gamergy, which will be held at IFEMA Madrid. BIG and Gamergy are key meeting points for the Spanish industry, providing opportunities to connect with other agents in the sector: programmers, artists, producers, designers, marketers and Esports players, among others.

An ideal showcase where the novelties of the national industry are unveiled and where presentations, round tables and competitions are held with top-level protagonists and major companies.

The startups of the Start IN Up Program, protagonists at Gamergy and BIG

Up to thirteen companies that are currently part of the second edition of the Start In UP Program, Madrid in Game's entrepreneurship programme, will accompany the initiative at both fairs to showcase the progress they have made during their time working at the videogame Campus Development Center over the last few months.

At the Madrid in Game stand at Gamergy will be the development studios Mundo Nuevo, Another Path and Póntica; the Esports clubs Kumiho and E-Spartans; the mobile game Web3 Second World; the gamer platform Gamersfy; the Esports agency Algon Games; the Esports solution points Have Fun Gamers and the immersive experience VR Airsoft, which has centres in Madrid and Gran Canaria.

The companies travelling to Bilbao are the development studios Infinite Thread and Póntica, which are working on 'Hitori Kakurenbo Online' and 'Plus Ultra', an asymmetric multiplayer horror game and a two-dimensional exploration game set in the Mesoamerican era, respectively. There will also be Sathosi's Game, the game that combines cards, football and bitcoin and the virtual world to create and share Uttopion experiences.

Since the inauguration of the second edition of this programme last September, the startups have made progress in their projects and have received personalised advice, support for fundraising, presence at events, and mentoring from experts in three pillars: business, product and person. In addition, they have been provided with technological resources such as sound, video and state-of-the-art virtual and augmented reality laboratories, as well as other cutting-edge tools to boost their business ideas.

Some of them have even been present at national and international fairs accompanying Madrid in Game to showcase the development of their projects, materialising the benefits of the Start In UP Program. The entrepreneurs will continue their acceleration process at the Development Center of the Campus del videojuego until March, when the third edition of this initiative will begin, for which the registration period is already open. A cutting-edge programme that is expected to attract more than 200 companies over the next three years.

Ángel Niño, Councillor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Madrid City Council, points out that "Madrid in Game arrives at the last weeks of 2023 maintaining the intense activity deployed throughout the year to become a benchmark and make visible all the initiatives that we are launching".
