Madrid. October 20, 2023.- The Madrid in Game Summit, the Madrid Game Week, celebrates its second edition from October 20th to 28th with a packed program of activities focused on the video game industry and with the aim of creating a meeting space for the various actors in the gaming sector.

This event is born with the intention of promoting the video game and its industry beyond entertainment and using it as a valuable sociocultural transformation tool for citizens. This new edition will feature renowned guests who will complete a week where a cutting-edge sector in constant growth will be highlighted.

A game development marathon, a Tetris tournament, the already established Tardeo of Madrid in Game, or an exhibition with the main educational centers of the city at the Video Game Campus are some of the activities of the Summit, the Madrid Game Week. The events are as follows:

Third edition of Madrid in Game Hack Jams

‘Hack Jams’ returns to the Video Game Campus with a new edition of the 48-hour game development marathon of Madrid in Game. Industry professionals organized in teams will live together for two days and compete by creating games based on the same theme.

Bringing together developers and artists from the sector to design the future of the industry and gamification while promoting gamer talent, the proposal aims to enhance creativity, collaborative work, and innovation. This third edition will take place from October 20th to 22nd at the Development Center of the Video Game Campus.

Red Bull Tetris Qualifier

The Esports Center of the Video Game Campus will host a Red Bull Tetris championship qualifier on October 21st. From 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, players will compete to be the best player of Madrid in Game and play the game of their life: there is only one spot for the grand final of the event.

Madrid in Game Tardeo with Jaime Giné

‘The Tardeo of Madrid in Game’, an event already established as one of the reference meeting points in the video game sector in the city, will feature the CEO of Amber, Jaime Giné, in its sixth edition. In his talk, "The DNA of Amber: creativity and strategy," he will evaluate the keys to his firm and his extensive career in the industry. The special Tardeo of the Summit, which will be held at the Experience Center of the Video Game Campus on Wednesday, October 25th at 6:00 pm, will feature its usual networking, which has brought together more than 750 guests from over 200 companies in the video game industry in all its editions.

‘Cazacracks’ Event at the Video Game Campus Development Center

Cazacracks, a group that seeks young people interested in training in the video game industry, puts the finishing touch on its tour of more than 40 educational centers in the Community of Madrid and impacts more than 1,300 students with a free and open event at the Video Game Campus.

On October 27th and 28th at the Development Center, universities and training centers will come together to advise parents and students on the wide range of academic offerings related to the video game industry available in Madrid. It will be the first exhibition focused on the educational offer of degrees and specialized master's degrees in gaming. It will feature the presence of Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, U-Tad, CSEU La Salle, Universidad Europea de Madrid, UDIT, Universidad CEU San Pablo, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Voxel School, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, and ISDE.

Valorant Invitational Tournament

During the "Cazacracks" event on Saturday, October 28th, the Madrid in Game Valorant Invitational tournament will be organized, an open competition for the entire community where players can compete against some of the most popular influencers in Spanish Valorant such as Lauritachicle, Rachelgi, Theakalenia, and Airyn. Streamer Danicongui, one of the main local representatives of Valorant, will broadcast the event on his Twitch channel.

The Councilor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Ángel Niño, has highlighted the large number of activities surrounding the video game sector that will be deployed in a short period of time and that, furthermore, involve different actors in the ecosystem. “Both entrepreneurs and professionals, investors, enthusiasts, and associations can participate in a very comprehensive calendar that positions Madrid at the epicenter of the industry,” he said.

“We are talking about concentrating in our city in just a few days the talent of internationally renowned profiles, massive events around video games, high-value meetings and encounters, and recreational activities,” he said, emphasizing that this program adds to the large number of transformative actions that Madrid in Game has been implementing since its inception less than a year ago.
